Man shot in the foot

A man is recovering in hospital this morning after being injured in a shooting in Dublin.

The victim, a local man, was hit in the foot when eight shots were fired at him in the Clonsilla area just after midnight.

The shooting happened in an open space near Lohunda Crescent. Gardai are trying to establish a motive for the attack and the scene has been preserved pending technical examination.
