Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has said he hopes the pro-agreement parties in the North will accept Irish-British proposals aimed at restoring the North's suspended political institutions ahead of Assembly elections scheduled for May 29.

The proposals, which are believed to include a controversial sanctions scheme for parties deemed to have breached the Good Friday Agreement, are due to be unveiled later this month.
