Minister urged to reject maternity closures

The Green Party has urged Health Minister Micheal Martin to reject the recommendations of the Medical Manpower Forum, which called for the closure of 12 maternity units throughout the country.

Party spokeswoman Deirdre de Burca said the proposed closures could put the lives of expectant mothers at risk.
