Gardaí wearing anti-racism badges

Gardaí all over Ireland have been issued with special badges to mark International Day against Racism.

They have been told by the Commissioner to wear the 'Know racism' emblem while on duty to show solidarity with the campaign to stamp out prejudice.

Events are taking place throughout the country to raise public awareness about the problem.
