The Irish Bankers Federation has claimed that bank charges for personal customers in Ireland are among the lowest in Europe.

A survey conducted by the federation found that charges on Irish current accounts were the fourth-lowest from eight countries surveyed, but the figures only related to a "basket" of services and did not contain a breakdown of individual charges.
