Paisley condemns postponement of Northern elections

Democratic Unionist Party leader Ian Paisley has condemned the Irish and British Governments' decision to postpone the North's Assembly elections for a month in the hope of resolving the current impasse in the peace process.

Dr Paisley, whose party has consistently opposed the peace process and the Good Friday Agreement, claimed the move would come back to haunt the pro-agreement parties when the elections eventually go ahead on May 29th.

"Who the heck do they think they are that they're going to deceive the entire unionist community?" he asked.

"The entire unionist community are raging mad about what is happening and they'll show it in the election."
