Technology problems delay extension of penalty points system

The Department of Transport and the Gardai are meeting this week to try to resolve technical difficulties that are delaying the roll out of the penalty points system.

The system is credited with having cut the number of deaths on Irish roads since its introduction last year for speeding offences.
