Fine Gael concerned over Dail computer virus
The Fine Gael party has raised strong concerns about the safety of the electronic voting system in Leinster House.
The electronic voting terminals are out of order in the Dail today after they were infected by a computer virus.
The TD's had to revert to the old method of walking through the lobbies.
Fine Gael's Bernard Allen said it raised serious concerns over the security of the system if a virus could effect the electronics.
Fine Gael's Bernard Durkan said future votes in the Dail and in General Elections could be sabotaged if hackers had access to the equipment.
Minister Michael Smith said the matter was being investigated.
