Rabbitte calls for gardaí to police M50 congestion
Labour Party leader Pat Rabbitte has called for gardaí to be posted on the M50 motorway in Dublin in an effort to alleviate chronic congestion.
Mr Rabbitte said the situation is costing businesses money and aggravating commuters trying to get to and from work.
He said the queues caused by the West-Link toll plaza are so bad that they are costing more money than the tolls are worth.
"We can't persist with this toll plaza on a distributor road," Mr Rabbitte said. "At least throw it open at peak times."
