The Dáil and the Seanad are both expected to seek legal representation at the Morris Tribunal later today in an effort to protect the privilege enjoyed by sitting TDs and Senators.

The move follows plans by the gardai to investigate the telephone records of Labour Party TD Brendan Howlin and Fine Gael Senator Jim Higgins in an effort to discover the source of allegations made to the two politicians.
