IFA want new resources to save agreement
The head of the Irish Farmers' Association says the new national agreement can only be salvaged if the Government comes up with resources for the farming industry.
Talks on the farming aspect of the new partnership agreement broke down at Government buildings last night.
Farmers were unhappy with proposals in the final draft document which were presented to all parties.
Tanaiste Mary Harney has appealed to farming groups to re-enter talks on the agreement but IFA President John Dillon says that money needs to be brought into the deal before farmers re-enter talks.
