Farmers are calling on the Taoiseach to personally intervene in the new troubled partnership talks.

Farmers are insisting that negotiations are on the brink of collapse because the government is not making an adequate offer to the agricultural community.

Pat O'Rourke of the ICMSA says the Taoiseach is now the only person who can keep the farmers in the deal.

In addition, IFA President John Dillon insists that the talks process is looking bleak for Irish farmers.

He says that the Government does not seem to be committed to put the resources in place to resolve the situation.
