Gardai in Limerick are today expecting to question the two men allegedly abducted at gunpoint in the Ballynanty area on Thursday of last week.

Twenty-year-old Eddie Ryan Jnr and his 19-year-old brother, Kieran, turned up safe and well in Portlaoise yesterday morning, but have still not spoken about what happened to them in the previous six days. Both men have agreed to speak to detectives investigating their alleged abduction, which gardai believe was linked to a long-running family feud.

Meanwhile, a man and a woman remain in garda custody this morning in connection with the murder of 42-year-old Kieran Keane in the Drombana area of Limerick on Wednesday night. The execution-style killing is believed to be linked to the alleged abduction of the Ryan brothers.

Mr Keane, whose family is engaged in a bloody feud with the Ryans, was found dead on the side of the road with a gunshot wound to the head and his hands tied behind his back just hours before Eddie and Kieran Ryan re-appeared. Another man who was with Mr Keane on Wednesday night remains in a serious condition in hospital.
