Ahern vows to protect Irish farming interests

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has vowed to protect the interests of Irish farmers during EU negotiations on the mid-term review of the Common Agriculture Policy.

Mr Ahern said the Government is concerned about the shape and direction of the proposed CAP reforms and will do all it can to secure the best deal possible for Irish farmers.
