Sinn Fein Chairperson Mitchel McLoughlin is insisting that the May first elections go ahead, saying it was "crucial".

Sinn Fein Chairperson Mitchel McLoughlin is insisting that the May first elections go ahead, saying it was "crucial".

Speaking at today's Sinn Fein Ard Chomhairle in Dublin, Mr McLoughlin says the British and Irish Government are "pandering" to what he terms unionist attempts to dilute and renegotiate the agreement.

He says that allowing a political vacuum to continue in the North will have predictable consequences.
