Loyalist councillor to begin legal challenge against Adams
A loyalist councillor is due to start a legal challenge to Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams in Belfast later today.
The councillor claims that Mr Adams has abandoned 16,000 of his west Belfast constituents by refusing to take his seat at Westminster.
Some of Gerry Adams' west Belfast constituency lies on the Protestant side of the peaceline, including the staunchly loyalist Shankill Road.
West Belfast councillor, McCoubrey has organised a petition saying Mr Adams has failed them because he boycotts the House of Commons.
He says it is a fundamental breach of their human rights to be represented and they are a forgotten community with high unemployment and poverty rates.
Sinn Fein says the move is a political stunt and that Gerry Adams routinely deals with constituency complaints from the Shankill Road.
