Man pleads not guilty to murdering baby son

A murder trial jury has been sworn in to try a foreign national, with an address in Co Kildare, who is accused of murdering his 20-month-old baby son.

Yusif Ali Abdi (30) originally from Somalia but with an address at The Elms, College Road, Clane, today pleaded not guilty to the murder of Nathan Baraka Andrew Ali at Co Kildare on April 17 2001.

The trial before Mr Justice Paul Carney and a jury of seven women and five men begins in the Central Criminal Court tomorrow.
