Burglars raid 15 houses 'in a few hours'

Gardai are today searching for a gang thought to have burgled 15 houses in the space of just a few hours.

Thousands of euros worth of property – including jewellery, computers and mobile telephones – were taken in the raids in Laytown, Co Meath.

A four-wheel drive vehicle was also taken in the thefts early on Tuesday.

“There is little doubt it is the same crowd responsible for all these burglaries,” a Garda spokesman said.

Officers said they were looking for a gang of four in connection with the robberies, and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
