Man killed by Sligo train

A man has been killed by a train in County Sligo this evening.

The incident happened in Collooney eight miles outside Sligo town and the victim was hit by the Dublin to Sligo train.

The train had left the capital at 2.20pm this afternoon.

Gardai and emergency services are at the scene and are investigating what happened.
