Man rescued from Donegal river

A man has been rescued after falling into a fast flowing river in Co Donegal.

The man, believed to be in his mid twenties, had fallen from a bridge in Ballyshannon into the River Erne shortly before 7.30am this morning.

He was pulled from the water by a garda who jumped in and brought him to safety.

The man was brought to Sligo General hospital where he is in a stable condition suffering from hypothermia.
