Limerick gardai launch murder investigation

A murder investigation has been launched following the shooting of a man at his home in Co Clare.

The 40-year-old victim received a single gunshot wound to the head some time in the early hours of this morning and died at the scene.

Detectives from Mayorstone garda station in Limerick are investigating, though no arrests have yet been made.

The State pathologist and a garda technical team are on their way to the scene, which has been sealed off.
