Dunlop voted North's greatest man

Motorbike riding ace Joey Dunlop, who died during a race last year, has been voted the North's greatest man in a BBC Radio Ulster poll announced today.

Motorbike riding ace Joey Dunlop, who died during a race last year, has been voted the North's greatest man in a BBC Radio Ulster poll announced today.

According to the poll, the award of Northern Ireland's second favourite man went to Ian Paisley, leader of the DUP.

In third place was Professor Frank Pantridge, who developed the world's first cardiac ambulance and portable defibrillator.

Fourth was the 1981 hunger-striker Bobby Sands and fifth was Harry Ferguson, inventor of the tractor.
