Fishermen begin crisis talks in Cork

Crisis talks are underway among fishermen in Castletownbere in Co Cork following dramatic fish cuts announced by Brussels.

A 5% reduction in fish quotas was secured compared to the 30% drop mooted by Brussels. However the Irish box is causing the greatest concern amid fears that Spanish trawlers will be given further access to the 50 mile exclusion zone.
