Flood: Dunlop admits 'corrupt influence'

Former Government press secretary Frank Dunlop has accepted that he was involved in corrupt practices during the Dublin planning process in the 1990s.

Much of today's testimony at the Flood Tribunal has dealt with alleged payments to former councillors, including former Senator Liam Cosgrave.

Mr Dunlop told the tribunal that he gave Mr Cosgrave £2000 in cash in 1992. In a written statement Mr Cosgrave said the money he received was for his personal election campaigns and not for his support in rezoning matters in Carrickmines, Dublin.

Liam Cosgrave, in his written statement, said Frank Dunlop was a "corrupt, dishonest and greedy man".

Frank Dunlop accepted that he was a corrupt influence on the Dublin planning process in the 1990s.
