O'Connell Street spike resting in Baldonell

The first section of the O'Connell Street spike has been moved from where it was built in Dungarvan to Baldonnell and will complete its journey to the capital tonight.

A Garda escort will travel with the 20m steel structure on the final leg of the journey.

Weather permitting, work on the construction of the spire will get underway at first light tomorrow.
