Murder trial jury out

A murder trial jury was sent to a hotel overnight after failing to reach a verdict in the case of a 21-year-old man accused of murdering another man in Dublin in 2001.

Mr Stephen Kelly of Westpark, Artane, Dublin is charged with the murder of Mr Jonathan Guy (aged 21) of Belcamp Crescent, Priorswood outside a house at Newgrove Estate, Donaghmede, Dublin in March 2001.

The court has heard that the victim spent a week in Beaumont Hospital after suffering the fatal wound to his chest, which penetrated his heart and lungs. His condition deteriorated and he died as a result of his injuries on March 11.

The jury continues its deliberations at the Central Criminal Court tomorrow.
