PUP leader seeks assurances over legislation
The leader of the Progressive Unionist Party, David Ervine, is meeting the Taoiseach to discuss the latest stalemate on the peace process.
Legislation introduced in the Dail recently to protect the North-South bodies is causing immense concern for Unionist parties.
David Ervine says he wants assurances that the legislation is temporary.
"We need to talk to the Taoiseach about how he is going to convince us that it is temporary, that it is only about the protection of jobs and that it is a legitimate argument.
"We have got to see how we make each other feel comfortable about this. Also if we are to abandon fears about strange dealings between governments the best thing is to get the northern assembly up and running again and re-introduce a proper form of devolution."
