A man was recovering in hospital today after he was abducted and shot in both ankles in Belfast.

A man was recovering in hospital today after he was abducted and shot in both ankles in Belfast.

A gang of four men snatched the victim, 23, on the Whiterock Road and took him to the mainly nationalist area of Ballymurphy in west Belfast where he was shot.

The man was discovered in the garden of a house in the Dermot Hill Gardens area just before 10pm last night.
