Investigation continues into Kilkenny murder

Detectives will continue investigations today at a house in Kilkenny where a 36-year-old mother of two was murdered on Thursday evening.

Preliminary post mortem results have show that Christine Quinn died as a result of stab wounds to her head and torso.

Her body was discovered when emergency crews attended a fire at her home on Thursday, which she shared with her two teenage sons.

Gardai are following a number of lines of enquiry in what is a full-scale murder investigation.
