Rose of Tralee takes a break after shop lifting arrest

The 2002 Rose of Tralee, Tamara Gervasoni, has stepped down from her official duties for a number of weeks.

The move follows her arrest yesterday in Longford, after being accused of shoplifting at a local supermarket.

She was released yesterday by gardai in Longford without charge.

However, it has been announced by her family that the 2002 Rose is receiving counselling because of an eating disorder.

Her mother has said that Tamara has been under a lot of pressure lately.
