TDs protest over estimates outside Dail

A protest over the book of estimates that Charlie McCreevy announced last month is due to take place outside the Dáil this afternoon.

Left-wing TDs along with Union representatives have formed an alliance this afternoon and will be protesting outside Leinster House in Dublin at cutbacks implemented after the recent estimates.

Protesters will set out from the Central Bank and then arrive at the Dail.

They want a return of the first-time buyers grant and an extension of the medical card scheme.
