Irish call for RPII access to Sellafield

Irish TDs and senators will today call on the British government to allow the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland to have automatic access to Sellafield.

Irish TDs and senators will today call on the British government to allow the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland to have automatic access to Sellafield.

If granted, the request will allow the RPII to monitor all activity and emissions at the Mox and Thorpe plants in Cumbria.

BNFL chief executive Norman Askew has said he has no objection to a permanent Irish presence.
