Prisons in North disrupted by unofficial protest

The majority of prisons in the North have been affected by unofficial protest action by prison officers, causing significant disruption.

Lawyers and relatives’ visits have been cancelled with no sign of a resolution in sight. Up to 85% of officers either phoned in sick this morning or turned up for work and then reported sick.
