Cereal farmers receive €70m in EU grants

The Government has announced that it has paid more than €70m to cereal farmers since last Friday as part of the second tranche of payments under the EU's arable aid scheme.

Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh said almost €122m has been paid to cereal farmers under the scheme this year, with just 3% of applicants yet to be paid.
