Government discusses spending cut fall-out

The Government was meeting in a special day-long weekend session today to assess the fall-out from plans for the biggest set of public spending cuts to be unveiled in more than a decade.

Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy outlined his proposals earlier this weekend and will spell them out in greater deal in his budget statement to the Dail early next month.
