Fianna Fail backbencher criticises estimates

A Fianna Fail backbencher has openly criticised Charlie McCreevy's massive cuts to public spending as announced in yesterday's book of estimates.

Mayo deputy John Carty has castigated the abolition of the first time buyers grant as a "retrograde step" and has vowed to lobby the Finance Minister on the issue.
