Many homeowners not insured for rebuilding costs

The Irish Society of Chartered Surveyors has advised homeowners to check if they have the correct insurance to cover the cost of rebuilding their houses.

The group said many people don't realise the difference between the market value of their homes and the cost of rebuilding the properties.

Because of this, many people are unaware that they do not have enough insurance to cover the constantly rising cost of rebuilding.
