Consumers critical of An Post

An Post has come under fire from the Consumer Association for the decision to ask postal workers to carry out mail sorting in their homes.

The move by An Post is aimed at cutting down disruption caused by the industrial action of postmasters in the three month old dispute.

However Consumer Association president Michael Kilcoyne has said the arrangement amounts to a breach of contract between An Post and consumers.

"We believe that consumers pay adequately for a service from An Post which is not being given to them", he said.
