Vomiting virus continues to wreak havoc in Beaumont

Beaumont Hospital in Dublin has reported 19 more suspected cases of the winter vomiting virus today, bringing the total number of affected patients to 66.

The hospital is continuing to restrict visits and has urged the public to contact their GP rather than attend the accident and emergency ward.

All elective admissions for medical and surgical procedures are also restricted to only the most urgent cases, but outpatient services are continuing as normal.
