AK47 seized in Limerick raid

Gardai in Limerick have arrested two men and seized an AK47 assault rifle following a raid on a house in the Garryowen area this evening.

The men, in their 30s and 50s, were arrested shortly after 6pm as part of an investigation into dissident republican activities.

Both are being held under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be detained for up to 48 hours without charge.
