Gardai launch murder inquiry in Tipperary

Gardai in Co Tipperary have launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of a man's body in Clonmel this morning.

The 21-year-old victim was found on waste ground at the rear of St Luke's psychiatric hospital at around 3am.

He had suffered injuries to his head and body.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination and a post mortem will be carried out later today.

Gardai have identified the dead man, but his name will be withheld until all relatives are informed.
