Belfast fails to make Capital of Culture short-list

Belfast has lost out on its bid to be named European Capital of Culture in 2008 after failing to make the short-list of six British cities.

The cities on the list are Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, Newcastle and Oxford.
