A leading Northern Ireland prisons body has voiced concerns over people who don't pay court fines being sent to jail.

Nearly 1,400 people in Northern Ireland were sent to prison in the last 12 months for failing to pay court fines.

However, a report by the Board of Visitors at Maghaberry prison, has voiced concerns that alternative methods should be found to punish those who refuse to pay.
