FF hold press conferences for 'Yes' vote
Fianna Fail is to hold press conferences today to try and swing the undecided vote in the re-run of the Nice Treaty referendum.
The media blitz is aimed towards the large percentage of the electorate who have still not decided which way to vote in the October 19 poll.
Mary Hanafin, the Government’s chief whip, said the press conferences will focus on jobs, the economy and the controversial issue of neutrality.
Meanwhile, the "Equal in Europe" group, which is campaigning for a "No" vote, has accused the "Yes" side of using diversionary tactics and ignoring the core issues of the Nice Treaty.
Spokesman Patrick Kenny said: “Most of the arguments that are put out by the "yes" side actually don’t deal with the Treaty of Nice. They talk a lot about enlargement and yet we know that there is a Plan B in place.
"They spend a lot of time talking about the economy and jobs and yet there’s nothing in the Treaty of Nice itself that would actually create jobs and there’s nothing about the defeat of the treaty that would cost jobs."
