Pilots call for new plan for aviation industry

The Irish Airline Pilots Association has called on the Government to devise a long-term plan for the future of the aviation industry in Ireland.

The association said the numbers of passengers using Irish airports is increasing steadily, but facilities like Dublin Airport are rapidly approaching capacity.

IALPA president Mark Tighe said the Government should plan ahead to ensure that Irish airports can take advantage of future opportunities.

“We need to ensure that there is continuing and increased investment in all aspects of the aviation industry, from the airline to the service providers across the board, to make sure that this growth can continue,” he said.
