Government leaves Euro ’08 decision up to GAA

The Minister for Finance says it is up to the GAA if they want to allow Croke Park be used for soccer if Ireland is successful in it’s bid to host the 2008 European Soccer Championships.

The Minister for Finance says it is up to the GAA if they want to allow Croke Park be used for soccer if Ireland is successful in it’s bid to host the 2008 European Soccer Championships.

Charlie McCreevy was speaking at Croke Park today and was responding to newspaper reports that Government funding to the GAA would not be honoured unless the GAA made it’s HQ available for soccer.
