Two released in relation to Waterford killing

Gardai have released two of the people who were taken in for questioning over the murder of a Portugese man.

An Irish woman and a Welsh man have been released, but investigators are still detaining two Scottish men under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.

The two released have not been charged.

All four were originally taken in for questioning over the death of 45-year-old Sergio Abreu who was found badly beaten in a field near Whiting bay, close to the seaside resort of Ardmore.

Following an examination by assistant state pathologist Dr Maria Cassidy, it was determined that he had died from injuries to the head.
