Gardai have named the man found dead in Waterford yesterday morning.

The body of 45 year old Sergio Abreu, originally from Portugal but living in Youghal, was found badly beaten in a field near Whiting bay, close to the seaside resort of Ardmore.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the death and are being questioned this morning.

Three men believed to be British nationals are being held and one local woman is also in Garda custody.
