Four people are being questioned by Gardai with the death of a Portuguese man in Waterford yesterday morning.

Three men and one woman were arrested last night in the east Cork – west Waterford area.

The badly beaten body of the man in his mid 40’s was found ina field near Whiting bay, close to the seaside resort of Ardmore.

The men being held are believed to be British nationals, while the woman is local.

The scene remains cordoned off and a preliminary post mortem examination was carried out by deputy state pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy.
