Opposition slam Government cutbacks
Opposition parties are joining today in the outrage over the Governments decision to take €15m from the waiting list fund.
Increasing pressure is mounting from the opposition for the Government to revoke its decision.
Fiona O'Malley of the PD’s believes health should be treated as a separate issue.
"I think the health services are a separate case in point, the estimates are due in tomorrow and I’m sure Michael Martin will be holding on very firmly to as much money as possible."
The decision has been sharply criticised and doctors are demanding the money be immediately re-allocated to the National Treatment Purchase fund.
